New arrest after attack at Cricketers pub at River, Dover

A second arrest has been made in connection with a beer garden attack which left a man in hospital.

Detectives arrested a 30-year-old man from Dover on suspicion of assault on Sunday.

He has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Kent Police was called to the back garden of The Cricketers, in Crabble Avenue, River following a report that a man had been attacked by another during a confrontation at around 7.40pm on Sunday, May 30.

The victim, a man in his 30s, suffered a head injury, which needed hospital treatment.

A 38-year-old man who was arrested on June 8 in connection with the incident remains under investigation.

Detectives are appealing for any witnesses who have not yet come forward to contact Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting the reference number 46/92609/21.
