'Rigged' gambling table, playing cards and cash seized by police at Port of Dover

A gambling table, suspected to be rigged, has been seized at the Port of Dover.

The object, along with a large magnet, remote control, dice, playing cards and an envelope containing cash, was confiscated by Kent Police after a driver was stopped on his way into the UK from France.

The discovery was on Monday, October 26.

Mihai Iordan, 51, of McKean Road, Oldbury, West Midlands was arrested and charged with possessing equipment for use in connection with fraud and possession of criminal property, namely cash.

Iordan appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and has since been released on bail.

He is next due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, November 30.
