Fire warning over charging electrical devices after flat fire at Crabble Hill, Dover

Firefighters have issued warnings about charging electronic devices at night after a blaze in a flat in Dover.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of an electrical fire at the home in Crabble Hill this morning.

Four fire engines were sent to the scene after receiving the call at 2.47am.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze using hose reel jets and the operation ended at 4.36am.

A statement from the service said: "No casualties were reported.

"It's believed the fire was caused accidentally after an electrical charger was left plugged in and overheated."
