Seven migrants detected in Channel by Border Force in Dover

Seven migrants presenting themselves as Syrian nationals were picked up in English waters this morning.

Border Force intercepted the small dinghy travelling across the Channel towards the UK at around 8.55am.

It was carrying a group of seven men who presented themselves as Syrian nationals.

The group were taken to Dover, where they were medically assessed before being interviewed by immigration officials.

Their cases will be dealt with according to the immigration rules.

Further migrant activity was disrupted by the French authorities with those found returned to France.

Yesterday, a further 21 migrants were found in the Dover area, some at the Eastern Docks and some just off the coast.
