A trader has had to close her new shop after just eight days because of the coronavirus pandemic.

But she decided to close it last Friday as the killer disease continued to worsen in the UK.

Mrs Hoskins, whose business is in Cherry Tree Avenue, Dover, told Kent Online: "Preloved Plus must have had the most shortest of openings in history.

"I have decided to close until this awful situation and virus passes and we can all return to some form of normality, whatever that may be.

"I do not want to be irresponsible by staying open and trying to encourage people into my shop.

"I also have my own family to consider as well.

"I can only wish everyone love and all the best and Preloved Plus will be back."

The shop is for women of larger size and Mrs Hoskins became the first to set up her own enterprise from a start-up business hub.

This was the Dover's Co-Innovation centre in Stembrook, which replaced the former Co-operative store in July 2018,

Preloved Plus had had a grand opening on Saturday, March 14.

The UK death toll from the COVID-19 virus has risen continually since the first fatality in the UK on March 5.

The figure yesterday (Sunday) was 281 out of 5,683 cases.
