A man has been seen walking along a busy main road.

Police brought all traffic to a standstill on the A20 coastbound near Dover after the pedestrian was spotted on the carriageway.

There were delays as motorists queued along the road while officers dealt with the incident.

All traffic was brought to a halt at around 10.30am and the road did not fully reopen until 12.30pm.

A police spokesman said: "Officers were responding to reports that a pedestrian was seen in the carriageway.

"Traffic was stopped while the man was taken to a safe place."
