Skip-truck wedged under Kearsney bridge, just outside of Dover

A lorry driver has been injured after the front cab of his truck got wedged under Kearsney Bridge.

The skip-truck has now been recovered after it blocked the Alkham Road route which leads to London Road in River.

The police were called at 10.15am and paramedics were seen treating the man at the scene.

A police spokesman said the man was hit in the face when the vehicle impacted the underneath of the bridge.

SECAmb confirmed one ambulance was on the scene treating the man.

The road re-opened at 1.40pm and KCC Highways advised motorists to allow for delays.

Network Rail was also said to be at the scene ensuring the structure was safe.

Rail services and Stagecoach buses were affected.
