Woman freed by firefighters after crash in Barton Road, Dover

A woman has been freed from her car by firefighters after a crash in Dover.

Two vehicles, including a van, collided at a busy junction with the van on its side near Stanhope Road and Barton Road.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service, the ambulance service and police are still at the scene of the accident, which happened in Barton Road at around 8am this morning.

Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment and a saw to release a woman from one of the vehicles. She was then handed into the care of ambulance service.

There were three crews at the scene from Dover, Folkestone and Canterbury.

Police closed the road between Cherry Avenue and Barton Primary School at 8.15am but it reopened at around 10am.

Martin Very, police spokesman said: "One lady was trapped in the vehicle until KFRS attended.

"There was no indication of any injuries."
