Dover have completed the signing of defender Paul Rooney on a two-year deal starting July 1.

The 22-year-old joins as the club's seventh new signing of the summer after leaving League 2 side Colchester United upon the expiry of his contract.

Rooney rose through the youth system at St Patrick's Athletic before making the switch to Bohemians ahead of the 2016 season in Ireland.

He then secured a move to Championship side Millwall in July 2016, making his senior debut in November's 3–1 victory away to Luton Town in the Football League Trophy.

This was followed up by a brief loan spell with Torquay in December later that year and then a permanent move to Colchester in January 2018.

A loan to Bromley came next, which saw him make six appearances across all formats last season before moving on to Billericay where he featured 18 times.
