Dover striker Alfie Pavey joins National League rivals Barnet

Alfie Pavey has left Dover to sign for Barnet for an undisclosed fee.

The striker joins the fellow National League club having scored three goals in 10 appearances so far this season.

Pavey arrived from Havant & Waterlooville last November before supplying seven goals and two assists amid Whites' fight for survival.

The 23-year-old has scored 12 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions since joining the club, his final outing coming as a substitute in Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Chorley.

Pavey had found himself competing for minutes with both Inih Effiong, Dover's top scorer this season with six goals, and summer signing Steven Rigg.

An impressive start to the campaign saw him score three goals in two games, including an opening-day brace to help Dover come from behind to beat Chesterfield after being introduced off the bench.

Andy Hessenthaler's men could now face Pavey when Dover host Barnet on March 28.

He becomes the second player to leave Crabble in the last three days following Marshall Wratten's one-month loan move to Isthmian South East side Whitstable town.
