Dover's FA Cup first round tie against Southend United will be live on TV

Dover's FA Cup first round tie at home to League 1 Southend has been selected for live television coverage.

Whites' game has been moved to Sunday, November 10 with a 12noon kick-off.

The game will be shown live on BT Sport with Dover pocketing a £75,000 appearance fee.

Southend, who are 22nd in League 1 with just five points from 14 games, appointed former Tottenham, Arsenal and England defender Sol Campbell as their new manager this week.

Dover are no strangers to appearing on TV in the FA Cup with their 4-0 third round defeat against Premier League Crystal Palace also being shown live in January 2015, when Chris Kinnear was in charge at Crabble.

The match will be pay-on-the-gate and cash only for home supporters, while Southend supporters must purchase tickets available at the club's ticket office from Friday November 1.

Current Whites boss Andy Hessenthaler needs no reminders about the club's Cup pedigree, of course, after Dover won 2-0 at Gillingham, who were then managed by Hessenthaler, in the first round in 2010.

It is the sixth time in the last seven years that Dover have reached at least the first round of the competition.
