Dover Athletic striker Nathan Elder heads out on loan for third time this season

Striker Nathan Elder appears set to end his Dover career out on loan at Ryman League Premier Division side Tonbridge Angels.

Angels’ boss Steve McKimm confirmed on Monday night that Elder, whose contract expires at the end of the season, had agreed to move to Longmead until the end of the season.

Elder, whose goal secured Whites’ promotion to Vanarama Conference after the 1-0 play-off final triumph at Ebbsfleet United last season, hasn’t played for Chris Kinnear’s side since the 2-0 home league win against Chester on October 11.

Since then, Elder spent a month with Conference South side Hayes & Yeading and another at Ryman League Premier Division side Maidstone United.

McKimm said he was thrilled to finally get Elder.

He said: “I tried to get him before he went to Maidstone but it wasn’t possible financially for us at the time. Circumstances have changed now and we managed to do a deal.

“Nathan offers so much. He’s got a great presence, a huge amount of experience and he’s a real handful for defences - I know that from my time at Sutton. They are all qualities we need right now.

“Nathan’s had a really frustrating season so hopefully he’ll take that frustration out on teams we play against now."
