Former Dover Athletic striker Ricky Miller suspended by League 2 side Luton Town after being arrested for allegedly headbutting a taxi driver

Former Dover Athletic striker Ricky Miller has been released on bail until June 2 after being arrested for allegedly headbutting a taxi driver.

Miller, who scored five goals in 10 games while he was on loan at Crabble last September and October from Luton Town, has also been suspended after the incident which reportedly happened in Hockliffe hours after the League 2 side’s end-of-season awards night.

A statement from his club said: “Luton Town Football Club can confirm that Ricky Miller has been arrested following an alleged incident on Sunday evening.

“Subsequently, Ricky has been suspended by the Club pending a police enquiry. Luton Town FC takes any allegation against a player or member of staff very seriously.

“An internal investigation is also underway and any player guilty of misconduct will be disciplined appropriately.

“The Club is unable to comment further at this stage.”
