Dover Athletic defender Sean Francis working hard to improve his goal scoring celebrations before FA Cup clash at Cheltenham Town.

If defender Sean Francis scores for Dover in the FA Cup clash at League 2 side Cheltenham Town on Sunday, he hopes he’ll celebrate it properly.

Not only because he hasn’t been beyond the second round - he wants to get injured team-mate, winger Ricky Modeste, off his case.

Francis scored the winner in Dover’s impressive 2-1 win in the Vanarama Conference clash at Gateshead on Saturday.

Francis says his celebration left a lot to be desired - well, according to Modeste.

The imposing centre-half said: “Ricky (Modeste) certainly gave me a bit of stick in the changing room after the game.

“He came and sat down next to me and said ‘What was that? We really need to work on it (his celebration).’

“I guess he is right though - I’ve watched my reaction after I scored on TV, and to be really honest, I don’t know what I was doing or trying to do.

“I’d be happy for Ricky to help me really because I want to look what I am doing on TV this Sunday and celebrate properly.

“I am sure we’ll be working something out - I have to before Sunday!!"
