Manager Jake Leberl is confident Dover will deliver a reaction to their FA Cup exit.
Whites were knocked out at the second qualifying round stage, losing 4-1 at National League South rivals Farnborough last weekend - facing the same opponents for the second time inside seven days - despite forward Ruben Soares-Junior’s first-half goal.
While Leberl naturally wanted Dover to enjoy a strong cup run, his troops find themselves in the play-off places in seventh.
They will host fellow early high-fliers Hampton & Richmond in the latest club community day at Crabble on Saturday.
Among the activities on offer will be a children’s disco in their clubhouse and a face-painting stall while more than 1,000 tickets have been handed out to local schools, community groups and the care sector.
On Alan Julian’s team, who have only lost once this season and are on a six-match unbeaten run, Leberl said: “They have had a really good start.
"Obviously it will be our community day, which should go in our favour.
“We know we let everyone - the fans, the club and the chairman (Jim Parmenter) - down last weekend.
“But I’m sure we will be bang up for it against an extremely competitive Hampton side, who have started the season really well.
“Hampton are a bit similar to us. They don’t have a load of experience or a load of money but they have started the season extremely well.
“Our players will react, I’ve got no doubt about that at all.”
In the bread and butter of the league, Whites find themselves ahead of Kent rivals Ebbsfleet, Maidstone and Tonbridge, having won 2-1 at Farnborough, before their cup loss.
Leberl said: “I keep going back to Bath (a 2-1 victory) where I felt we were fortunate.
“In the Dagenham game (a 2-2 draw), the sending-off sort of killed them but, in the Eastbourne (1-0) and Salisbury (2-0) games, I feel we were the better side and deserved those wins.
“We have shown that we can hold our own in this league. We only won four games all season the last time we were at this level so that shows we’ve grown a lot.
“I don’t want to end up with mud on our face but, apart from Gillingham, we’re the highest-placed Kent club at the moment.
“I’m not sure we will be in that position, come the end of this season.
"But we’ve made a good start and we’ve got to enjoy that.”
Soares-Junior reacted sharply to volley in at Farnborough, giving the away supporters hope of victory on 26 minutes.
That lead, however, was short-lived and the hosts held a 2-1 half-time advantage before netting twice more.
“It was disappointing for everyone,” reflected Leberl.
“It was a really strange game. It’s always difficult when you play a team the week after you play them. It didn’t feel like an FA Cup game.
“We went 1-0 up but then conceded and conceded a second from a second phase after a corner. Even at 2-1 at half-time, I honestly felt we could get back into it.
“The third goal killed it.
"I tried to get people on to make a bit of an impact after that - but that kind of had the opposite impact. That had nothing to do with the players that came on.
“The FA Cup is a brilliant cup competition so I’m really disappointed to go out.
“It creates a buzz around everything. It’s not so much the fact we went out, it’s more the way that we went out.
“The fourth goal was on me where we had players playing out of position. I think it’s the first time we have conceded four goals since I’ve been in charge, as well.
“But Farnborough deserved to go through.”
