Dover Athletic manager Chris Kinnear confirms deal to bring defender Tyrone Sterling back to Crabble is almost done

Dover manager Chris Kinnear is set to bring defender Tyrone Sterling back to Crabble.

Sterling, 26, who played for Whites for the second half of the 2012-13 season, has left Dartford and Kinnear confirmed a deal was almost done.

He said: “The paperwork should be completed in the next couple of days, so we’re looking forward to having him back.”

The versatile Sterling, who played 28 Conference Premier league games for Dartford last season, can play at left-back, centre-back or on the left side of midfield.

But Kinnear said that’s not all Sterling will bring to his squad ahead of Dover’s first season back in Conference Premier for 12 years.

“He’s got plenty of pace - he’s very quick to be honest.”
