DOVER College pupil Adam Bowers won a gold medal in the British Schools Weightlifting Championships held at the college.

Bowers broke four Kent schools records on his way to the senior boys' title and has now qualified for the national championships.

Other local competitors were Asa Webster and Andy Hurford, from Astor College, and Rowena Hunter-Johnson, from St Margaret's, and Ashley Burton, from Dover, both Dover College students.
