Nuneaton Town 3 Dover Athletic 2 Vanarama Conference match report

Dover Athletic’s three-game unbeaten run in Vanarama Conference ended with a 3-2 defeat at Nuneaton Town on Tuesday night.

The run, which included two wins and a 1-1 draw at Bristol Rovers last Saturday, came to an end after Chris Kinnear’s side found themselves 2-0 at one stage in the first half.

Debutant Onome Sodje gave the hosts the lead in the 16th minute before James Armson doubled the lead in the 33rd minute.

Dover’s Luton Town loanee Ricky Miller reduced the deficit in the 37th minute. It was his fourth goal in six games.

Stefan Payne headed Dover level six minutes after half-time but there proved to be no share of the points heading Dover’s way after Connor Franklin headed home a 77th minute winner for Nuneaton.

The result leaves Dover 19th, just a place out of the relegation zone.
