Armed police called to Painters Forstal, Faversham, after suspect ‘made threats with weapon’

Armed police were called to a village after reports of a man making threats with a weapon.

Around eight units descended on an address in Painters Forstal near Faversham this morning.

A 67-year-old man was later arrested in Whitstable in connection with the incident.

A police spokesman added: “We were called to a report that a man had made threats with a weapon at an address in Painters Forstal near Faversham, at 8.36am today.

“Patrols, including armed officers, attended the scene and, following enquiries, a 67-year-old man was later arrested near Whitstable.

“An investigation into the circumstances is underway.”
