Car bursts into flames on slip-road at Brenley Corner near Faversham

A dramatic video shows a car on fire close to one of Kent’s busiest roundabouts.

The incident happened at about 1pm on the London-bound slip-road coming off the A299 Thanet Way at Brenley Corner, near Faversham.

In the footage, flames pour from the red Ford as traffic queues behind.

A police spokesman said: “We were called at around 1pm today to a car alight on the slip road of the M2 at Brenley Corner.

“Officers attended the scene where they assisted fire crews.”

A fire service spokesman added: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a vehicle alight on the A299 by Brenley Corner, Faversham.

“Two fire engines attended, with crews using a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.

“There were no reported injuries.”
