Crash closes M2 coastbound at junction 5 near Sittingbourne

Police were forced to close the M2 this morning following a crash.

Emergency services, including ambulance and fire crews, were called to the coastbound carriageway of the M2 at junction 5 at about 5.38am.

As a result of debris and fuel on the road, the carriagweway had to be closed.

The road was reopened at 7am and no serious injuries were reported.

The photo was posted with a warning from the roads policing unit, saying: "To drivers driving past recording the accident on their phones, expect a summons in the post.

"We are busy enough dealing with this accident without you causing another."
