An overturned car caused long queues on a major route.

There were lengthy delays on the London-bound A2 approaching the M2 Junction 7 at Brenley Corner, near Faversham.

The accident coincided with this afternoon’s rush-hour, with motorists reporting seeing the aftermath of the crash at about 5pm.

One lane remained closed until just before 4am for emergency barrier repairs, but has now reopened.

It's currently unknown if anyone has been injured.
