Dog seen on the loose along A2 between Canterbury and Brenley Corner

Police were called to a busy stretch of the A2 this morning after a dog was seen running along the road.

Witnesses say that traffic was affected at around 8.30am as drivers avoided the pooch which was spotted between Brenley Corner and Canterbury.

Police say they had received a number of reports and used a rolling road block while they searched for the dog, but it was not found.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended and a rolling road block was utilised while they searched for the dog.

"The carriageway was reopened but the dog was not found."
