Faversham: Lorry catches fire on A2 London Road in Ospringe

A bin lorry caught fire on a busy main road this morning.

Fire crews attended the scene at about 6.25am on the A2 London Road in Ospringe following calls of the blaze.

A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue said: "The fire is believed to have started by a problem with the engine.

"Crews used a main jet and a hose reel with water from a hydrant.

"The police also attended for traffic management."

Two fire engines were called and the crews left the scene at about 7.45am.
