Huge emergency response as crash closed A2 Canterbury Road in Faversham

A major road has reopened after being closed after a car crashed into a wall and two other vehicles.

Police and fire services were scrambled to the A2 Canterbury Road in Faversham following the accident shortly after 5am yesterday (Sunday).

A police spokesman said: ”Kent Police was called at 5.22am to a report that a car had struck two parked cars and a wall.

“Officers attended the scene where the driver had left prior to their arrival.

“No injuries were reported and arrangements were made to recover the vehicle. Inquiries are underway to identify and locate the driver.”

The route was previously blocked in both directions between A251 Ashford Road and Hilton Close.

Nearby Salters Lane was also shut off due to the incident.
