Section of M2 between Sittingbourne and Faversham closed after crash

Motorists were met with long tailbacks after a crash on the M2 forced the motorway to be closed.

A Land Rover collided with the central reservation on the coast-bound carriageway between junction 5 for Sittingbourne and junction 6 for Faversham shortly before 11am.

Police were called, along with the ambulance service, fire crews and Kent Highways.

A force spokesman said: "Minor injuries have been reported."

An ambulance service spokesman said: "A person was assessed and treated at the scene but declined further hospital treatment."

Kent Highways warned drivers to expect delays in the area as a result.

The motorway was fully reopen by 1pm.
