The body of a man was found in water by police after he was reported missing in Faversham.

Officers were called to the town at about 5.30pm on Friday and searched the area.

A body was discovered in the Creek near Flood Lane at about 7.40pm and a man in his 70s was declared dead at the scene.

Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

Next of kin have been informed.
