Motorists were queuing in sweltering heat after a smash between a lorry and two cars on a major route towards the coast.
Traffic was building on the A299 Thanet Way after the collision near Hernhill, between Faversham and Whitstable.
Cameras showed vehicles queuing in the Highstreet junction area, with traffic information site Inrix reporting the accident involved a lorry and two cars.
The Met Office reports temperatures are expected to reach 28C in many areas of the county.
And there are tailbacks up to Brenley Corner on the M2, which will likely have a knock-on effect on those travelling coastbound along the motorway.
But the crash has since cleared and traffic has returned to normal.
The route has been busy in recent days as motorists embarked on summer getaways this Saturday and heading towards the Port of Dover.
The recent bout of hot weather has also attracted more people to the coastline.
A police spokesman said: “We were called to a collision involving two cars and a lorry at 9.50am today.
“Officers attended the scene on the A299 Thanet Way near Faversham to assist with recovery.
“No injuries were reported.”
