Video shows migrant trying to clamber out of Italian lorry at Brenley Corner, Faversham

Shocking footage of a migrant attempting to tear his way out of the back of a moving lorry has emerged.

A dashcam video taken at Brenley Corner roundabout, near Faversham, shows the man desperately trying to clamber out and prise open the trailer.

Police have confirmed they arrested seven men following the incident before taking them to an immigration centre in Dover.

The force says they were called yesterday just before 5.20pm to reports of a number of people jumping out of the back of a lorry.

The HGV involved is from the Italian firm Catone Trasporti Internazionali.

After making its way around Brenley Corner, the lorry heads towards the Canterbury-bound A2 turn-off

Bemused drivers can be heard slamming their horns as they try to gain the lorry driver's attention.

As the migrant tries to make his escape hole bigger, debris falls to the ground.

Police tracked down the lorry near to the junction and made the arrests.

The alarming footage was captured by shocked motorist Julie Webb.

She says she tried to alert the oblivious truck driver.

"I got his attention, but he just put his hand up obviously he didn't understand why everyone was banging on there horns," she said.

"We had our grandson Charlie in the back who is nearly 10 and he couldn't understand why this man was trying to get out the back."
