Faversham teen arrested after police chase crash in Middle Row

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after a stolen car was crashed into a lamppost.

The vehicle, which went missing from a car park in West Street, Faversham, yesterday morning, was seen being driven in the North Preston area at around 6.40pm.

A chase ensued when police found the vehicle in Canterbury Road and the driver failed to stop.

It came to an end when the stolen car hit a lamppost, wall and another vehicle in Stone Street.

A 19-year-old man from Faversham tried to flee the scene, but was caught and arrested by officers in Middle Row on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and drug-driving.

No injuries were reported.

The arrested man remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
