A man was taken to hospital with a suspected stab injury after an incident in Faversham in the early hours of this morning .

Police were called to "reports of a domestic incident" just after midnight.

One man was taken to hospital with a suspected stab injury to his back after the disturbance in Salters Lane, involving a small group of people.

Police arrested a 39-year-old man from Faversham on suspicion of common assault and a 21-year-old man, also from Faversham, on suspicion of affray.

Both men remain in custody but the stab victim has been released from hospital.

The roads near to Makenade Avenue and along the A2 after Love Lane were reportedly still closed off around 2am.

A nearby resident reported seeing sniffer dogs and an ambulance around this time.
