A KENT MP wants to do more to promote sport in schools after landing a leading parliamentary post in a reshuffle announced by Conservative leader Michael Howard.

Hugh Robertson, MP for Faversham, joins the home affairs team as spokesman on sport in the House of Commons.

His fellow Kent Tory MP Damian Green has resigned as Shadow Transport Secretary after being offered a position he apparently didn't want.
