Former Faversham boss Sammy Moore has returned to management.
Moore has rejoined struggling Isthmian Premier side Potters Bar - nearly two years on from his Salters Lane departure - as he replaces Max Mitchell.
Former midfielder Moore will be assisted by ex-Dover manager and one-time Gillingham No.2 Ian Hendon.
Deal-born Moore’s last managerial job was with Hythe when he handed in a shock resignation, just one league game into last season.
A statement on Tuesday from the Hertfordshire club read: “The club can confirm the reappointment of Sammy Moore as manager of Potters Bar Town FC.
“Moore first joined the club in 2022, keeping the club in Step 3, and starting the following season strongly before departing.
“Sammy played for AFC Wimbledon and Leyton Orient, and has also managed Concord Rangers and Hemel Hempstead Town.
“We can also confirm that Ugo Udoji has left his role as assistant manager. We would like to thank him for his service to the club.
“Joining Sammy as the new assistant manager is Ian Hendon.
“Ian has previously managed Barnet and made senior level appearances for Tottenham during his playing career.”
Aiming to improve Potters Bar’s fortunes after a four-match losing run, 38-year-old Moore’s latest spell in the Potters Bar dug-out will begin at home to title-chasing Folkestone this Saturday.
Moore had been unable to help Faversham avoid Isthmian South East relegation in the 2022/23 season.
He then left the club in January 2024, despite the Lilywhites still topping the Southern Counties East League (SCEFL) Premier Division, with Deal having four games in hand on them.
Steve King’s side went onto win the title that campaign while Town, who appointed Tommy Warrilow to replace Moore, lost out on penalties in their play-off semi-final against Corinthian that April.
But Faversham did win the SCEFL title under Warrilow last term and are flying high in Isthmian South East.
