They informed Chats yesterday morning, with the Southern Counties East side looking for alternatives opponents.

The game would have seen Town boss James Collins return to his old club.

A Faversham statement said: "Due to a case of Covid within the first-team group, Faversham have taken the decision to cancel the game and suspend training.

"We have taken all the necessary precautions and gone beyond government guidelines.

"We have taken this decision out of abundance of caution and respect to Chatham Town FC players and staff."
