VCD delayed Faversham Town’s title party by beating Rusthall on Saturday.
Anything less than a win and the Lilywhites would have been crowned champions without even playing but the Vickers were 2-0 victors, thanks to George Snelling’s early own goal and a Rajan Sahni effort.
It’s effectively Faversham’s title already, given their vastly superior goal difference, but a point at Tunbridge Wells on Tuesday night would make mathematically sure for Tommy Warrilow’s men.
Snodland made the most of Lydd’s weekend off to move above their relegation rivals and back out of the bottom two.
They beat Bearsted 1-0, with teenage striker Stanley Oldfield scoring the only goal midway through the second half, and are three points clear of the Lydders, who face FA Vase finalists Whitstable on Tuesday.
Bottom side Lordswood are seven points from safety with three games left after conceding an injury-time equaliser against Kennington.
Alfie Humphrey and Charlie Plummer twice put Lords in front but the visitors rescued a 2-2 draw.
James Billings gave Corinthian a half-time lead at home to Hollands & Blair but it finished 1-1 thanks to Michael Samson’s leveller.
Regan Corke put Tunbridge Wells in front at Stansfeld but the hosts rallied to win 2-1 and move six points clear of danger, Jack Calvert and Jimmy Shepherd the scorers.
Wells had Rory Ward sent off in added time.
Danny Lear’s early penalty gave Erith & Belvedere a 1-0 win over Glebe at Park View Road, while third-placed Fisher won 1-0 at Sutton Athletic.
Larkfield & New Hythe face Whitstable in the Kent Senior Trophy final at the Gallagher Stadium on Sunday (2pm).
