Car on its roof after crash in Swingfield, near Folkestone

This was the dramatic moment a small car was left on its roof after a crash.

The photograph shows police and the ambulance at the scene near Folkestone.

The crash at about 3pm caused a build-up of traffic while the road was shut down, with a double decker bus at the front of one queue.

The wrecked car is to be a Mini and another vehicle, a large Volkswagen, is also shown with damage.

Bystanders say the accident happened this afternoon at Canterbury Road, Swingfield, about 200 yards from Folkestone Garden Centre.

One said: "The car flipped and traffic was held up.

"This was a Mini and another car in a head-on crash.

"There was a lady with a small dog in the Mini and an unknown person in the other."

No injuries were reported and the carriageway was closed while patrols dealt with the incident.

It was fully reopened at 4pm.
