The brown pup had slipped through a fence on the Leas and fallen, and her worried owner watched on as the rescue team set up to bring her up.

One fire engine attended alongside the technical rescue team, with firefighers using a safe access line to reach the dog and carry her back to safety.

The rescue operation lasted around 25 minutes, and thankfully she was returned to her owner without a scratch.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "We were called to reports of a dog that had fallen down a cliff on the Leas in Folkestone at around 10.25am today.

"One fire engine attended, along with the technical rescue team, and firefighters used a safe access line to access the dog and carry her back to safety. No injuries were reported."

This is one of several incidents involving dogs falling from the cliffs in the Folkestone area this year.

In August, Barney the Jack Russell was found on a ledge at the Warren after being missing for two days.

And in June, also at the Warren, Coco the brown haired pointer also had to be rescued after getting stuck on a ledge.
