Sharing the good news on Facebook and Twitter, a crew spokesman said: "A very busy few days for the team, with multiple taskings including rescuing the very lovely Coco who got herself onto a ledge in The Warren today.

"She was brought down to her owners by one of our rope rescue technicians and was very appreciative of the treats we carry."

The spokesman said that the brown haired pointer had been stuck.

"It was a vertical drop above and no obvious safe path below or to the bottom," he added.

In a coastal emergency, call 999 and ask for the coastguard.
