A LORRY driver has admitted killing another motorist in a head-on collision in Folkestone.

Greek-born Georgios Fotiadis pleaded guilty to causing the death of 27-year-old Paul Waghorne by dangerous driving when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday.

Mr Waghorne, of Canterbury Road, Folkestone, died at the scene of the crash in Churchill Avenue on March 2.

The case had been listed at the crown court for a preliminary hearing. Sentencing was adjourned to allow 51-year-old Fotiadis, who lives in Germany, to give further instructions to his legal team.

He was remanded in custody until April 8. Judge Jeremy Carey warned Fotiadis through an interpreter that he faces a prison sentence.

Mr Waghorne ran the post room at Shorncliffe Barracks and worked at Sainsbury’s petrol station at Park Farm.
