A busy high street was blocked in both directions after a man was hit by a bus.

Ambulance crews were called to the scene in Ashley Avenue, Cheriton, near Folkestone, at 9.30am following reports of the incident.

The collision took place near Cheriton Post Office.

Paramedics attended and assessed a man before taking him to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford for further treatment.

Police have been contacted for further details.
