M20 reopens following incident between Channel Tunnel and Folkestone

The M20 has reopened after a pedestrian was hit by a lorry.

The incident caused delays between Junction 11A and Junction 12 for Cheriton this morning.

Witnesses reported seeing a person being treated in the road and at least five ambulances at the scene.

The crash happened at 7.30am just after the Junction 11A turn-off for the Channel Tunnel.

Highways teams warned motorists of big hold-ups and urged them to use alternative routes while officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit carry out enquires.

Traffic was directed off the motorway and onto the A20 towards Folkestone, causing delays in the area.
