A man has been arrested after reportedly attacking a woman at a seafront.

The assault is said to have happened on Saturday evening in Harbour Way, Folkestone.

When officers arrived, the suspect had left the scene, but he was subsequently traced following further enquiries.

A police spokeswoman said: “We were called just before 8pm on Saturday, June 14, to Harbour Way, Folkestone, following reports a woman had been assaulted.

“Officers attended, but the suspect had left the scene.

“Following enquiries, a man was later arrested on suspicion of assault.

“He has been bailed while enquiries continue.”
