Folkestone man charged with grievous bodily harm after fight at The Brickfield Cookhouse in Cherry Garden Lane

A man has been charged after a serious assault left a victim in hospital.

The incident happened around 4.30pm last Thursday (January 23) in The Brickfield Cookhouse, in Cherry Garden Lane, Folkestone.

Multiple emergency services, including an air ambulance, attended the scene, and a man was taken to hospital with injuries which were not life-threatening after an altercation.

Following inquiries at the scene, a man was arrested on suspicion of assault.

Stuart Hall has since been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a Stanley knife.

The 45-year-old, of Radnor Cliff, in the same town, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (January 25).

He was bailed to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, February 24.

Detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information relevant to the investigation to contact the appeal line.
