German man dies after M20 crash near Sellindge

A German man has died after a crash which left the M20 closed for several hours overnight, it has been confirmed.

The fatal motorway crash involved two cars and a motorbike on the M20 at Junction 11, near Sellindge.

Police are appealing for anyone with video footage to come forward, following the collision at 7.20pm yesterday.

The German motorcyclist was riding his black Kawasaki bike heading London bound in lane two when the crash happened.

His bike hit a blue Vauxhall Corsa in lane one and then a blue Peugeot 107 in lane three. He died at the scene.

A police spokesman said: "The incident is being investigated by the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit and officers would like to hear from witnesses who may have seen the vehicles prior to the collision or who may have dashcam footage of the vehicles."

The M20 reopened this morning following the accident after Highways England said the road had to be shut for a police investigation.

Just before 11pm, Highways England urged motorists trapped on the carriageway to be patient as they started to free vehicles from the back of the queue.
