A pensioner has denied attempting to murder a man in a residential cul-de-sac.
Fehbi Boyzel, 50s, is said to have been attacked at a property in Firs Lane, Folkestone, just before 10.45am on Friday, April 4.
He sustained serious injuries, including one consistent with a stab wound, Kent Police said at the time.
Abdul Gunes, 73, and Necdet Gunes, 45, both from Folkestone, were arrested the same day and held in police custody.
Today, they appeared in the dock at Canterbury Crown Court, where Abdul denied attempted murder and Necdet entered a not guilty plea to wounding Mr Boyzel with intent.
Abdul, of The Leas, also denied wounding with intent and possessing an article with a bladed point, namely a folded pocket knife.
On the day of the alleged incident, neighbours told KentOnline they saw a man on the street “covered in blood”.
Shortly after emergency services descended on the area, police stopped a car in Dymchurch and arrested two men.
Two further men were detained later the same day and released without charge.
It is understood all parties are known to each other.
During today's plea trial and preparation hearing, Judge James told the duo: “We have fixed the trial date, which allows you both to be represented by your instructed counsel.
“The case is fixed for that date and will take place on that date.”
Assisted with the aid of an interpreter, both men were remanded in custody before their trial in February next year.
It is expected to last 12 days.
