Photographs wanted to mark school's anniversary

FORMER pupils of a Folkestone school are being asked to dig out old photographs to help celebrate a special anniversary.

St Peter's primary school, at The Durlocks, is now 130 years old and, to mark the event, a celebratory weekend is to be held on Friday and Saturday November 8 and 9.

On the Friday a thanksgiving service is to be held at St Peter's Church, to which all old pupils are invited. Afterwards visitors can then tour the school to see how much it has changed.

The following day the school will open from 10am-1pm for an exhibition of old photographs, to be put on by local historian Alan Taylor. However, the school is hoping former pupils might be able to add to the collection. It is appealing for those with snaps of the school, or class shots, to send them in.

Anyone who would like further details should telephone the school on 01303 255400.
