Fire on East Cliff in Folkestone

Two engines rushed to the scene of a fire involving plants in Folkestone - just a few hours after a grass fire was tackled in Hythe.

Crews were sent to extinguish the blaze on East Cliff yesterday involving 50 square metres of gorse on a steep slope at Wear Bay Road.

Firefighters were called just before 4pm and crews left the scene just before 5pm.

The inferno was put out with a hose reel and beaters.
