A man has been arrested after a woman reported being threatened with a weapon and sexually assaulted.
Police were called to Kingsnorth Gardens in Folkestone at around 12.40pm on Friday.
The victim said she was approached by a man she knew in the park. She alleges she was then threatened with a weapon and raped.
She also suffered a facial injury. Patrols attended the scene, taping off the park while they investigated.
A suspect was later arrested and taken into custody.
Officers also seized a knife and a quantity of drugs.
A 52-year-old man was charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place and possession of cocaine. He was bailed regarding an allegation of a sexual offence and will appear before Margate Magistrates’ Court on Monday (June 9) to answer to the other charges.
