DISGRACED former Kent GP Clifford Ayling has been released from prison having served less than three years of his four-year sentence.

Ayling, 71, was convicted of 13 counts of indecent assault on 10 female patients, mainly in the Folkestone area. He is out on licence and will not be allowed to enter the town until just before Christmas.

His victims' solicitor, Sarah Harman, says that many of his former patients are concerned he could return to the community at all.

Ayling had used his position as GP to assault patients under the cover of "examinations". He has since been struck off the register.
