A road is to be closed for up to a week after a sinkhole was found in the tarmac.
Access to Broomfield Road in Cheriton, near Folkestone, has been closed off to through traffic.
The road has been closed since yesterday, from the junction with Cheriton High Street to the junction with Park Road.
Works are being carried out to repair the sinkhole damage, but the road is likely to remain closed for the full period of seven days.
A Kent County Council announcement read: "This closure is necessary to enable sinkhole repairs to be carried out.
"There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so."
